ANTI-WAR LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATES FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION : 2005
Below are the campaign contact details for anti-war Labour MPs and PPCs who require the assistance of anti-war activists to help fight the general election campaign. If you feel unable to support your local Labour candidate, don't sit at home and do nothing - contact one of the campaigns below and help an anti-war Labour candidate instead.

Following on from the many email responses to our General Election campaign guide we recommend that candidates are asked the following questions to help you determine whether or not you want to support them.

Questions to Labour candidates:

1) Did you support the decision to attack Iraq in March 2003?

2) Do you support an end to the Anglo-US occupation of Iraq and the speedy withdrawal of British troops?

3) Would you support British involvement in any further "pre-emptive" wars that George Bush may choose to start, in the Middle East or elsewhere?

4) Do you support the detention without trial, house arrest, ID cards and measures limiting civil liberties?

For those of you who would like to support Labour candidates who oppose tuition fees, and foundation hospitals there is an additional attachment to help you determine which campaign you may wish to support.

We need some fit and energetic people to come down and help with canvassing for John Cryer MP for Hornchurch and a member of the Socialist Campaign Group of Labour MPs.

The Tories are targeting the constituency very heavily. They have about £80,000 to spend on promoting their candidate James Brokenshire who is a lawyer working for a US owned City law firm specialising is acquisitions and mergers!

The Hornchurch CLP is working very hard but because the membership is elderly there are not enough people physically able to go and knock on doors to cover the whole constituency.

Canvassing is going on every Saturday and Sunday afternoon and help would be very much appreciated from anti-war activists.
